This is a list of VOIP Service Providers who offer products primarily aimed at the residential telephone calling market. Such companies usually provide or sell a small adapter box, known as an ATA which hooks between a telephone and a broadband Internet connection. Some suppliers lock the ATA they supply, so it is useless with any other provider. Others allow you to 'bring your own device BYOD'. Many providers let you bring your own phone number (see LNP), but beware LNP is a tricky process. See also:
