Overview

4PSA VoipNow is the IP PBX software for Hosting and Internet Service Providers, developed by Rack-Soft. It is the right choice for businesses of all sizes, call centers and residential users. Built on multi-tenant architecture, 4PSA VoipNow can deliver hosted PBX services or it can be used as a standalone PBX in a company office. The software comes in two editions:

Product architecture

4PSA uses the Open Source Asterisk PBX software to deliver the telephony services. Asterisk is customized to accomplish the quality of service and services required in a hosted environment. The database backend is provided by MySQL, the most popular Open Source relational database engine. The latest MySQL features – procedures, functions, triggers, view – are used to complete a fully relational database schema. The control interface is programmed in PHP 5.2, which runs on an Apache 2.2 server, delivering a DHTML, AJAX enabled user interface. The web interface is based on Smarty template engine, customized on user level, including skin, language preferences and sound file management.

4PSA is designed to work in cluster, with multi-level access control policies restricted by individual permissions and limits and a web based user interface. The system also supports High Availability mode and downstream billing operations.

Features

4PSA VoipNow provides the following standard PBX features:
  • caller ID, call management, calls recording, voicemail, DND (do not disturb) function, call cascading, ring groups, music on hold, DID management, call monitoring and 50 other features.
As well as more advanced functionalityies like:
  • intelligent cost call routing and PTSN fallback, incoming call rules, local or public conferencing, fax and voicemail to Inbox, auto attendant (IVR) with text2speech, call center ready (call queues with sophisticated distribution algorithms and advanced reports and statistics), postpaid and prepaid billing, callback service, calling card.

The system has four access control levels:
  • Administrator: the system owner, with full control over the system
  • Reseller: the reseller of the VoIP services
  • Client: the reseller’s customer, usually a company that deploys VoIP services
  • Extension: the system’s end user, usually the employee who uses a phone terminal

Due to these four levels of management and individual permissions and limits, the reseller can sell services further, without any investment in hardware or software.
4PSA VoipNow can also be installed on Virtuozzo / OpenVZ using the virtualization templates available. When the limits on the virtual machines are correctly imposed, the voice quality is not affected by virtualization.

The PBX can be connected to a VoIP provider using a SIP channel connection or the PSTN network (via E1, T1 or analog regular phone lines) with a PCI compatible card. Multiple SIP providers are supported for redundancy. The system uses an advanced real-time routing technology performing call cost computations in several milliseconds and finding the best cost for the call even when the database contains millions of area code records.

4PSA VoipNow supports both prepaid and postpaid billing plans configurable on account level. The reseller and client can create billing plans to use on their own customer’s accounts and scale their business.

The software is compatible with x86 and PowerPC based servers. The supported distribution list is below:

(Only) if you're using VoipNow go to extension level, select the extension -> tools ->incoming call rules. you can add as many rules you want and assign priorities to each one.
