  • cancel button doesn't back out of the menu, instead you have to press OK or lift the handset
  • call waiting indicator tone is too loud and the pitch is too high - too intimidating
  • spaces in phone numbers in the phone book are not trimmed before dialling
  • UK tones setting doesn't sound UK at all, more like German indication tones
  • Japanese tones setting sounds alien, never heard anything like it before ;-)

Asterisk support

This phone works well with Asterisk and the manufacturer is committed to work on their firmware to ensure Asterisk interoperability.

333Outstanding issues

Firmware version 02.09
Message button dials mailbox (thanks to asterisk 1.2 - it sends mailbox number to phone)
To exit menu You have to press menu button again. OK or CANCEL doesn't work.
Call waiting tone is normal (at least for US tones configuration)

333Not compatible with SPA-3000

by yugin, Monday 27 of February, 2006 [06:27:20 UTC]
Voice quality was very good with other VOIP phones and adapters in my office. Speaker phone was very clear.

Calls to both my Sipura SPA-3000 FXO interface (local telco) failed; I hear the telco dialtone then silence. When the call is put through the otherside can hear me but I can't hear them. Emailed the factory but got no replies.

by MUD, Thursday 09 of February, 2006 [21:18:08 UTC]
Sunnybug "Reset to factory defaults" didn't seem to work on the GNet SKU: VP104S of this phone? Maybe a typo? This worked

Press "Speaker" dial 255*000 press OK

Phone will ask if you are sure, if you are - press OK.

Well I forgot my password for the phone.
Tried all kinds of Googling, but have found nothing.

So I have called their Taiwan office and after 15 minutes of search "for the right tech sup. person"
I was told how to reset this phone to default settings and blank passwords.

Press "Speaker" dial 258*000 press OK

Phone will ask if you are sure, if you are - press OK.

Hope this will help someone :)

333Phone Mutes Irregularly

by , Wednesday 16 of February, 2005 [14:05:00 UTC]
I just got a this phone and it was a breeze to set up on Asterisk. However, at irregular intervals the phone gets muted. I can hear the person I am calling, but they can't hear me. It happens on outbound and inbound calls. I can restore the conversation by putting the phone on hold for a brief moment. When I may a call to another SIP phone (Grandstream Handytone) I have to immediately hold the conversation and release it before ANY voice is transmitted.

Has anyone else experienced this?
