333Re: They DID change the firmware!

Just to confirm, I bought the Dlink DVG-1402S at Frys on 4/30/2005, I don't remember what firmware it came with but it is now at L4.0S36F and the Advanced menu does not ask for a password and does not contain the SIP settings anymore. Telnet asks for a login apparently different from the PrimusAdmin one posted above.

I'm gonna try my light blue cisco serial cable on it and see if serial access is protected as well.

333They DID change the firmware!

by panteev, Tuesday 03 of May, 2005 [04:30:24 UTC]
I've got my D-Link DVG-1402S (no L at the end) at Fry's on 04/29/2005. It came out of the box locked to Lingo with firmware L4.0S27. But the password above worked and I even managed to configure it for SIPPhone.com ().

My joy didn't last. I decided to try one free month of Lingo. As soon as I reset the router and registered for the service by entering router's MAC address at lingo.com it upgraded it's firmware from L4.0S27 to L4.0S36F() Guess what? That's right, now it's locked. When you click on ADVANCED, it opens a couple extra options without asking for a password, but SIP settings are not there. I tried TELNET, but the old login doesn't work anymore. I think I am f@%ed. ()
Does anyone knows how to unlock it back?

333Model number correction

by MarcMagi, Saturday 30 of April, 2005 [02:11:54 UTC]
The model number mentioned in the article is incorrect. The D-Link DVG-1402S may be used with any VoIP provider while the D-Link DVG-1402S/L is the "Lingo" locked version. See links below.
